Highlights since May (my last post):
My grandfather got really sick & went to heaven to meet Jesus. He really was a wonderful man! He was a farmer & an educator by trade & the rule enforcer at home. When Grandaddy told you to stop running in his house, you listened! He was a strong Christian man who left no doubt as to where he was going when his soul left this earth. He was always trying to teach you something & the majority of the time, it was something you didn't already know or had never heard of before. His funeral was very much a celebration of his life with one of his longtime friends giving the eulogy, my cousin singing one of his favorite songs & me reading a poem that my grandmother picked out.
Harrison had what we thought was a stomach bug but ended up being a reflux flare-up. No fun to clean up vomit as much as we did in the middle of the night! After about a month of zantac, we think he is finally better. Now we are just praying we don't have any more flare-ups....My brother finally got married!! He & his wife, Ruth, had a very small wedding at my aunt & uncle's house. Harrison got to be the ring bearer. We talked about for weeks how he was going to walk up to Uncle Will & give him a pillow. We forgot to mention that he needed to stand with Uncle Will - oops! But Harrison did exactly what we told him & handed Uncle Will the pillow, then turned around & walked off. He looked like such a grown-up in his white shirt, dark jeans & boots! Sadie was a little angel baby & didn't make a peep during the whole wedding (partly because she was getting a bottle).
We have had a fun & busy summer so far: birthday parties, becoming a full-on thumb sucker (Sadie), going to the splash pad with friends (luckily it is 5 seconds from our house!), having a little sibling bonding, potty-training (ok not so much fun, but part of the summer), helping in the garden, getting ready for a beach trip, and eating lots of ice cream!
Harrison has just now gotten a little jealous of all the attention Sadie gets, especially from Mommy. But our little girl thinks her big brother hung the moon already!
Even though things are crazy hectic at our house most of the time, I feel like the time is slipping away too quickly. My babies are growing up too fast for me. Sadie is already sitting up & started saying "dadada" this morning. I want to keep them little way longer than they are staying that way!
