Pumpkins!

We cheated this year since there wasn't really a good time for us to go to the real pumpkin patch, & we didn't know if Sadie would sit still long enough for the hay ride. We went to pick out pumpkins at the farmer's market & pretended like we were in the field!

Of course, there is not one good picture of them together or apart because I was trying to be sneaking & not call attention to ourselves taking pictures at the farmer's market - ha!

I did finally get Sadie smiling at the camera, but Harrison was a little too worried about the fact that there was a spider on that cat's tail.
Then we went home to carve & paint pumpkins. I couldn't find any paint brushes (of course), so we settled on hand prints on one pumpkin. The other one is still on the dining room table!

Harrison did not like the inside of the pumpkin. He said it was nasty!
Some of these pictures turned out a little too much like those awkward family photos!!

Look Alikes

Several times that I have been taking pictures of Sadie, it occurs to me that her pictures look a lot like ones I had taken of Harrison. Here are a couple of examples.

9 Months

We took Sadie for her 9 month check-up the same day we took Harrison in & got a positive strep test. Thankfully, he did not pass on his sickness to her (but he did pass it to me!)

Weight: 17lbs 12 oz - 25-50%
Length: 28in - 50-75%
Head Circumference: 17.5in - 25-50%

Her growth has remained around the same percentages on the growth chart.

Sadie is wearing a range of sizes, somewhere between 6-12 months in clothes. Except for shoes, her foot is still so tiny that she is wearing a 0-6 months shoe. She is in a size 3 diaper. Sadly, before the month is over, we will be purchasing our first diapers. We were so blessed to have so many diapers given to us before she was born! The top of her closet now looks empty where all the diapers have been.

Sadie still doesn't have any teeth so she is still mainly eating baby food. We have started some finger foods like puffs, soft fruits & vegetables, she has tried a few french fries & spaghetti. She is a great eater! She is still drinking 5-6 bottles a day with breakfast, lunch, supper & a couple of snacks. She also thinks she is entitled to anything you are eating if you eat in front of her!

Sadie has been crawling for a little while now. Even though she is capable of regular crawling, she prefers to army crawl for some reason. She is pulling up to her knees, but not to standing.

She absolutely loves her big brother! He can barely look in her direction & she is giggling & kicking her feet in excitement. It is the cutest thing! Naturally, she wants to play with all his toys instead of hers. Thankfully, he usually wants to play with her & shares quite well.

Sadie, like most girls, loves to talk. She is saying dada, mama, baba, nana, uh-oh - mostly gabbing. She has learned recently to clap & wave bye-bye. She has the sweetest little smile and is the most laid back baby. It is so fun watching these two precious babies grow up - even though it is happening too fast!
