Sadie Bug is 2 months!

Our little Sadie girl is 2 months old this week! We went on Tuesday to have her check-up and get those dreaded shots. The pediatrician said she gets an A on this visit. She is cooing, smiling in response to us, holding her head up better (even though she falls asleep every time we have tummy time!). Here are her stats and how they compare to Harrison's:

Weight: 11 lbs 14 oz, 75% (Harrison: 12 lbs 3 oz, 60%)
Length: 23 inches, 75% (Harrison: 23 1/2 inches, 60%)
Head Circumference: 15 3/4 inches, 75% (Harrison: 15 1/2 inches, 40%)

So far, she is catching up to him (considering she was almost a full pound smaller than him at birth).
She is still nursing very well, about every 3-4 hours during the day. She is sleeping through the night most nights. I usually feed her between 10:00-10:30 and she will sleep until somewhere between 6:00-7:00 most nights. Occasionally she will wake up around 3:00-4:00 to eat, but I can't really complain since the majority of the time she sleeps all night. Harrison was around 5 months old before he did that! Now we just have to get her sleeping in her bed. Brian and I still have to set up the monitor. We have delayed her sleeping in her crib because we are scared she will wake Harrison up. Plus, she does wake a little bit if she loses her pacifier, and I don't want to walk to the other side of the house to put her pacifier back in her mouth. She is napping pretty regularly in her crib during the day, so I feel like she is used to it by now.
The pediatrician also told us that Sadie has a very mild case of torticollis, which means her head is tilted slightly to one side. We have to do a couple of exercises with her several times a day to help stretch the muscle out. If it is not corrected by her 4 month check-up, we will be referred to physical therapy.
Now some pictures of our little angel!

Flu, Potty Time, Rodeo, Etc

Last Wednesday as I was getting Harrison ready for daycare I noticed he didn't act like he was feeling well. So I checked his temperature, and he was burning up! So we made a doctor's appointment. Thankfully my mom was in town helping me make some curtains, among other projects. She and Sadie stayed at home while we went to the doctor. Brian decided to leave work and meet us there, which turned out to be a good thing. The doctor told us Harrison had a triple whammy - type A & B flu plus strep throat! No wonder he felt bad! Of course, Harrison had to stay home the rest of the week. After 2 shots, you could not tell the child was ever sick. So Friday, we tried a little potty training...

He wore big boy underwear, sat on the potty, we gave prizes but eventually he got so tired of the potty that he would cry every time we mentioned the potty. Since he only did anything on it twice, we decided that maybe he isn't ready yet. Everytime we have asked him to sit on the potty or wear big boy underwear since then, he throws a fit. So we are sticking with diapers a little bit longer...

This is our sick patient hanging out in his Elmo pajamas and playing with his Daddy's hair.

We took Harrison to the rodeo Sunday night. This was his first time going. He loved watching the horses. During the horseback riding, he kept saying "horses jumping!" He was not a fan of the pyrotechnics at the beginning of the show. He kept hiding his face and crying. He doesn't like fireworks either. He has gotten to where he repeats a lot of stuff that we say. Thankfully, he didn't repeat anything Lecil, the rodeo clown, was saying. He had some dirty jokes to be telling to a Sunday crowd! Sunday was the day Loretta Lynn was performing. We had to leave early to get back to church, but we got to hear her sing one song. Harrison stood in the stands dancing and snapping his fingers. I think he will definitely want to go back next year. This is probably the only year that we will get out of buying one of those glow sticks that all the other kids had!

This is what we do every night before bed. Harrison sits on the bathroom counter and brushes his teeth. Then he pretends to drink water out of a mug & spit in the sink. I don't know why he won't actually spit. We are going to have to work on this before we start using real toothpaste! I started singing the ABC song while brushing Harrison's teeth when he started wanting to do everything himself & then he gets to brush them himself. Now he refuses to brush his teeth without me singing.

Harrison is using third person all the time now. "Harrison brush teeth", "Harrison bath time", "Harrison drink milk". Another funny thing that he is saying right now is, "hear dat??" He likes to emphasize the last syllable of everything he says and draw it out. So he pretty much sings the last word of every sentence.
Brian's mom has a neighbor named William. Harrison has an Uncle William (my brother). I think he may call all men named William Uncle Will becuase he calls both these men that!
He also loves to "ride Mommy's back", "lay head on Mommy's shoulder", "ride Daddy's car", and "sing Soul" (10,000 Reasons by Matt Redman). Every time we get home, he has to "give Finnin a treak", which Finn loves! And everytime Sadie so much as whimpers, Harrison demands that "Mommy, feed Sadie!"
Harrison is singing along to the ABC song, couting to ten (with the occasional omission of a couple of numbers), naming his basic colors regularly (lellow, bue, red, geen, pink, purple), and requesting "shake milk" regularly. This little boy is a handful of fun!!
